Just SKLIP It!
This contraption looks simple enough. But what it does is actually ingenious. Party throwers and catering types beware: This could change your life. Slip four SKLIPS between your baking sheets to create stacked trays. Perfect for conveying sheets of goodies from one place to another without them getting smooshed or to create extra work space, four SKLIPs placed on the lip of your baking sheet will allow you to carry several trays at one time without them moving. So now that you are set like the savvy pro you are, you can bake away to your hearts content.

And if you are wondering what to put on all those trays, take a look at Gingerbread by Jennifer Lindner McGlinn. Gingersnaps, Chocolate-Ginger Crinkle Cookies, and Apple Butter-Gingerbread Cake all make for perfect temptations to pass around this time of year. And Melissa Gray from NPR’s All Things Considered, shares 365 day’s worth of cakes (and some cookies) all suitable for sharing. Starting with cakes for beginners and ending with fancy cakes for special occasions, you’ll find plenty of options to deck the tables, such as the author’s Cowboy Cookies (a family Christmas tradition), Chewy Butterscotch Bars, or Lane Cake (season appropriate bourbon-soaked fruit layered with white cake). If you are not in a festive mood by now, then get thee to a bookstore! A peak between either of these books, should do it. —Liesel Davis
