The Golden Scoop Awards
Monday, June 6th, 2005
Join us as we announce the winners of PastryScoop.com's 2nd Annual Golden Scoop Awards on Monday, June 6th at 3:00 pm. Not only will you be the among the first to find out who won—you'll have a rare opportunity to watch master pastry chef Jacques Torres in action in the intimate setting of The FCI's International Culinary Theater. Now that's what we call just desserts!
The afternoon will begin with Chef Jacques' demo. With his trademark humor and stoveside manner, he'll show you how to pull, stretch, shape, bubble, and blow sugar into fanciful decorations. The celebration of sugar will continue as Chef Jacques presents the Golden Scoop Awards, recognizing excellence in pastry and dessert innovation. And, the afternoon will end on an equally sweet note as we toast the winners and enjoy treats at a champagne reception.
Who better to present the awards than Jacques Torres? Widely known for his popular TV series and cookbooks, he's one of the most celebrated pastry chefs in the world and the youngest to receive the Meilleur Ouvrier de France Pâtissier Award. He's also the Dean of Pastry at The French Culinary Institute and owner of Jacques Torres Chocolate Haven in New York City.
